India will host the FIA awards ceremony and other major events next year

Next year's Formula 1 world champion will be officially crowned in New Delhi.
Indian sources say the next FIA year-end gala, which usually takes place in Monte Carlo, is being planned in India's capital, a first for all of Asia.

The news was confirmed by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), after its president and Force India boss, Vijay Mallya, presented a report at the recent meeting of the World Motor Sport Council.
New Delhi will also host its first grand prix next year, at the end of October, while a MotoGP race is already being considered.
The World Motor Sport Council and the FIA Annual General Meeting will take place in the Indian capital, among other things.
“It is a clear signal that India now appears on the world maps also when it comes to motor racing,” said the FMSCI president.
