Horner: Webber wants to stay at Red Bull

Red Bull team principal, Christian horner, will want to speak clearly in the coming months with Mark Webber about the contract for next year. Webber has a year-on-year contract with Red Bull and both parties have said there is no rush to discuss future plans.

However, before the Canadian Grand Prix, Horner admitted that the team had its first indication from Webber, who would like to continue racing for the team.

“When we decide to sit down and discuss it, we will,” Horner explained. “We've only completed six races out of nineteen, so I think we'll talk about it in the summer.”

“Mark has made it known that he would still like to race next year and our discussions with Mark are very direct.”

Regarding Webber's problems in adapting to the new Pirellis, the team principal responded: “Mark has had the best start to the season so far. He's had more problems than Seb in adapting to the new tyres, but he's giving it his all, but he's still a great rider and he's still pushing a lot”.
