Formula 1 | Ferrari has solved the problems for 2023

There is a lot of optimism at home Ferrari for how the championship started. Or rather, the first race is still to be played, but the sensations on the SF-24 they are very good. Mind you, the car is not yet capable of winning easily (or so it seems), but it is certainly an encouraging base on which to work during the season, in stark contrast to the enormous difficulties of last year. Frederic Vasseur, The team principal of the Rossa was a guest of Sky Sport in yesterday's Paddock Live Show, and seemed very optimistic about the future.

Ferrari, Vasseur: “We corrected the problems of the SF-23”

“It went pretty well overall – admits Vasseur. It's still difficult to have a clear picture of the performance at the moment: this morning we were all quite close, around a tenth, and that means two and a half kilos of fuel, so it's very complicated to make a firm judgment now. In the long runs both Carlos and Charles did quite well, but let's focus on ourselves trying to improve the potential we have, we'll see tomorrow. It is not necessary to sacrifice qualifying to do better in the race: we have corrected the main problems of the 2023 car, namely degradation and sensitivity to wind and other external factors, and today we had a clear demonstration of this given the strong wind on the track , we have grown."

“Pure performance is another thing, but we won't have certainties before tomorrow. We took a good step in the right direction already last year, in the second part, regarding the wind. We started on that basis and it's positive, because it's very difficult to develop a car when you don't feel it, whereas now we have a clear picture, we know how to improve it. Front row tomorrow? Let's see, I don't know what happened to Max today because I expected him to be faster, I was a little surprised, but the race pace was strong, a little faster than the others and I think he'll be good in qualifying tomorrow too. After him we were all very close, there were four or five teams less than a tenth, it becomes impossible to predict how it will end because maybe someone was traveling with more or less fuel, 20 kilos of petrol is equivalent to eight tenths, that's a lot".
