Ferrari: the name of the new F1 chosen by fans on the web
In January, users will decide the name of the new Rossa for 2014
The name of the Scuderia Ferrari single-seater for 2014? The choice will be made next January together with the millions of Ferrari enthusiasts spread across the world via the Internet. This was announced yesterday evening by President Luca di Montezemolo on the occasion of the traditional pre-Christmas dinner with the Italian sports press, which took place at the Fiorano track.
That Ferrari has always been very attentive to the Internet is demonstrated, for example, by the fact that the Scuderia was the first to present one of its cars live online, in 1996. This year too - the launch of the new single-seater was an event very popular, with 83.000 users connected at the same time, a number almost equal to those who followed the royal wedding between William and Kate (87.000), coming from 158 different nations.
The official Scuderia page on Facebook, which has only been active for a few months, reached the milestone of 6.15 likers this morning at 500.000 CET, thanks to the Colombian Giovanni Refugia Arceo, while the company page is sailing past 12 and a half million. @insideferrari, the official account on Twitter - through which you can, for example, follow the progress of a race weekend live from inside the Maranello garage - has more than 670.000 followers. The Scuderia website far exceeded ten million page views (+13,5% compared to 2012) and had 3,5 million unique visitors (+28%) while visits grew by 20% (from 4,5, 5,5 to 227 million). There were 554 countries from which connections were made: Italy is always the first, followed by Great Britain, Spain, the USA and Brazil but there is no shortage of fans in the Central African Republic or Tonga. Among the most significant increases there is certainly Finland (+166.119%): after all, the news of Kimi Raikkonen's return was the most clicked of the year (XNUMX hits).
