Ferrari confirms the resignation of James Allison from the role of technical director

As of this morning, James Allison is no longer the technical director of Scuderia Ferrari.

After the numerous rumors of recent weeks, in fact, the Maranello team confirmed the farewell of the former Lotus technician through a press release, wishing him the best for the continuation of his career.

For three years in Emilia (arriving during the last months of Montezemolo and Domenicali's management), Allison offered his contribution to the failed F14-T project, while he personally signed the 15 SF2015-T and the SF16- H of 2017.

No car, clearly, managed to bring back the world title, an aspect that led the new president of the Red team, Sergio Marchionne, to endorse the farewell of the Lincolshire-born coach.

It should be noted that the British engineer, once the mandatory break period is over, will sign a contract with Mercedes as a chassis builder and will join the figure of Paddy Lowe.

His former role at Ferrari as technical director will instead be covered by Mattia Binotto, a person already within the Scuderia.
