Ferrari: Montezemolo's blitz in Monaco

Hit and run for Luca di Montezemolo at the Monaco Grand Prix. Taking advantage of the classic break in the race programme, the President of Ferrari arrived in the Principality for a series of high-level meetings and, obviously, to greet the team, engaged in the sixth round of the World Championship of the season. Montezemolo spent a long time with Team Principal Stefano Domenicali to take stock of the situation and also met the two drivers, Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso before leaving the paddock around 16pm.

Friday at the track is usually the busiest day of activity. Briefing from nine in the morning to nine in the evening, three hours of free practice, interviews and everything that goes along with it. Only once a year during the Formula 1 World Championship, on the Friday of a Grand Prix, the engines are silent: in Monaco. Not that there is silence, because the track still hosts some support races, such as GP2 and GP3, but the Formula 1 teams have left their cars stopped in the pits. Furthermore, there was no shortage of work, neither for the mechanics nor for the technicians but, at least, the pace was slower than usual.

Even Fernando and Felipe didn't have the day completely free: first the usual autograph session, a fixed appointment at every Grand Prix, then some interviews and a meeting with the engineers to discuss the analysis of the data collected yesterday and to define the program in view of qualifying tomorrow afternoon. Nothing different compared to previous years, it's a pity that the morning sun was followed by a light drizzle which made the Monegasque port look more like an English resort in autumn than one of the pearls of the Mediterranean in the middle of spring.
