Arrivabene: “I take my responsibilities. We have to work harder"

Ferrari – Ferrari's final result in the Spanish Grand Prix, held today at the Circuit of Catalunya, is a third and a fifth place. After occupying second position in the first half of the race – then handed over to Lewis Hamilton after the second pit stop – Sebastian Vettel crossed the finish line in third position, controlling Valtteri Bottas from a distance. The Finn's Williams was the final objective of Kimi Raikkonen, who started seventh at the start and authored a spectacular first lap which saw him recover two positions. Kimi made up ground until he was in Bottas' wake, but in the final laps he didn't have the opportunity to overtake his compatriot. The victory went to Nico Rosberg.

The protagonists of the Formula 1 Circus now await the prestigious stage of the Monaco Grand Prix in two weeks.

Maurice Arrivabene: “The comparison between the two aerodynamic solutions in the race clearly shows that Sebastian's car was very good compared to the one used by Kimi. But we still have to improve. There is a gap with Mercedes and we need to analyze our data to understand the reasons. We are not blind and we saw that only in the third sector, where traction counts, we lost about half a second. We need to understand if this depends on the nature of the track or something we did. As for race strategies, we made an aggressive choice by putting Sebastian on two stops: if we had decided on three tire changes, things wouldn't have changed, if not for the worse. The numbers tell us that the new solutions work, the reality shows that they don't work enough. We have made a step forward, but it should have been a leap. I don't point the finger at anyone in particular, I take my responsibilities. We have to work harder."
