Algersuari announces that he will have no role in F1 in 2012

Jaime Alguersuari will not be in the paddock in the 2012 season. After two and a half seasons and just 21 years of age, the Spaniard has lost his place at Toro Rosso, and the last available place on the grid, in HRT has been occupied by Narain karthikeyan.

There has been speculation that the Spanish sponsor wanted the Toro Rosso, Cepsa, disagreed with Red Bull for the decision to remove Algersuari, but the Faenza team has announced that the oil company will also remain as a partner for 2012.

There had also been rumors that Algersuari would be the third Mercedes driver, however today on Twitter the driver announced his absence from F1 for 2012.

“You won't see me this year but I'm happy with the experience that F1 has given to my life”

“Thank you all for the support,” he added.
