Williams, Pastor Maldonado: “We can fight for victory at every race”

Pastor Maldonado believes his performance at the Singapore Grand Prix proved that Williams has the pace to win a few more races before the end of the 1 Formula 2012 season.

Maldonado has not scored a point since his shock victory in the Spanish GP in May, but qualified on the front row in Singapore.

After losing two places on the opening lap, Maldonado battled with Fernando Alonso for third place before suffering a hydraulic problem and being forced to retire.

Despite this disappointment, Maldonado said his race performance leaves him full of confidence for the rest of the season.

“I was running pretty well. The race pace was decent,” he told her.

“I'm confident for the next race. We have the pace, we have the potential to fight for the win and I hope to have more luck."

“The start was ok, but right in the first corner with the cold tires I went a bit wide, that's why I lost some positions,” he said.
