Williams, Maldonado: “A result that gives us confidence”
The Venezuelan finished eighth in the Japanese GP. Senna, however, 14th
The pilot Williams Pastor Maldonado comments positively on the eighth place achieved at the end of the Japanese GP.
“It was a good race for me. The car had great pace and was very consistent, but it was difficult to try to overtake, especially towards the end - has explained -. We felt we were faster than the cars in front of us, but the nature of the track makes it difficult to close the gap."
“We're back in the points, so I'm happy with this result which gives us great confidence ahead of the next race”he concluded.
His teammate, Bruno senna, however, had to settle for 14th position.
“We had a good start managing to overtake two cars, unfortunately I was involved in an accident with Rosberg at the second corner after taking the inside line – commented the grandson of the great Ayrton -. From that moment the race was compromised, but we still had a good pace. The car was very competitive and allowed us to overtake a few cars, plus the tires responded well. Now we're going to Korea to try to score some points."he commented.
