Williams, Maldonado: “I like the track but today it was really difficult with the rain”

The comments of Rubens Barrichello and Pastor Maldonado after free practice for the Korean Grand Prix which took place in the rain.

Rubens Barrichello – 13: It was too wet to do many runs this morning and this afternoon there was only a small improvement. We tried to go for a dry tire at the end of FP2, but the conditions were still too wet so we avoided it. The track was very slippery but the tires actually held up quite well considering the number of laps we did. Due to today's conditions it is difficult to make a reasonable judgment on the things we are about to do compared to other teams at this stage.

Pastor Maldonado – 18: The rain cost me a lot of track time today, which isn't ideal because I haven't driven here before. When I got out I learned the track quite quickly and I like it, especially the third sector. It's a very interesting circuit, with a mix of slow, medium and fast corners. This makes it quite technical so we will need a fundamentally well balanced machine. We will work hard to achieve this tomorrow overnight and in FP3, to be in the best possible shape for qualifying.
