Williams, Felipe Massa: “We need to improve our race pace”
Felipe asks Williams for more aggressiveness in their strategies, revealing that the team is working to improve the pace in the race
Felipe Massa ended the Chinese GP in sixth position, keeping Lewis Hamilton's Mercede behind him and confirming his role as captain of Williams on the field, once again beating his teammate Valtteri Bottas. However, the Brazilian is not totally satisfied with the performance of the FW38, revealing how the team is committed to solving some discontinuity problems demonstrated over distance. The imperative is to improve performance in the race, perhaps also adopting more aggressive strategies with the tyres.
“We still can't achieve a performance over distance equal to what we demonstrated in qualifying, we need to improve our race pace – said the Brazilian driver– I don't think it's a problem related to the tyres, we have some ideas to improve and we are giving 100% of our possibilities. We will find the way to be less discontinuous in the race. This year a lot also depends on strategies. Maybe we will have to try to be more daring, trying to adopt more aggressive race tactics."
