Russell: "Good FP2, but we're not satisfied yet"
Different feedback for George Russell e Nicholas latifi in the free practice of Bahrain Grand Prix, the inaugural event of this 2021 world championship formula 1. Due to the strong wind on the Sakhir track, the pilots of the Williams they were unable to find the right feeling and set-up with the single-seater, an aspect that will have to push the engineers to work in view of the FP3 tomorrow afternoon.
“The conditions were difficult, even considering the high temperature of the track,” said the Englishman of the Williams. "The FP2 they were quite good and our long distance pace was better than expected, despite the gusty winds. I was pleasantly surprised by this.”
“Equally we know that this condition will change between now and Sunday and that our car is quite sensitive to these variations,” he continued. “We keep our fingers crossed and hope that the conditions are the same for everyone. It will be a difficult race, but I can't wait."
Here instead are the declarations of Nicholas latifi: “Today was difficult and I fought with the car to find the best possible balance. We had several problems. In FP1 we tried to find the key to the problem, but we went too far. I wasn't satisfied with the FP2 behavior in qualifying configuration, so we have a lot to do tonight. We have to dig deep and see how we can improve."
