Williams confirms Maldonado for the 2012 Formula 1 season

Williams has confirmed that Pastor Maldonado will be one of the two starting drivers also in the 2012 Formula 1 season. The Venezuelan made his F1 debut this year.

“I'm happy to be able to continue with Williams in my second season in Formula 1, I will really give my all to help the team get back to the top,” commented Maldonado. “It was a difficult season for the whole team but I had the opportunity to learn and develop my skills. I am convinced that the steps forward made will bear fruit in 2012 and I am excited at the idea of ​​representing Venezuela in Formula 1."

“Pastor has shown this year that he is not only fast but also consistent in the race” commented Frank Williams. “Pastor deserves credit for all 4 of our Q3 finishes this year and his race in Monaco was great.”

Williams also confirmed that Valtteri Bottas will be the reserve driver and will drive in 15 Friday practices next season.
