Whitmarsh: "One more comparison with Ferrari before Melbourne"

The three days of testing by the McLaren Mercedes team in Jerez ended yesterday, which included the continuation of the aerodynamics program and qualifying tests in the morning with Heikki Kovalainen.

Martin Whitmarsh:
"The primary focus of this week's testing was to advance the aerodynamic programme. The wind heavily affected our work on Wednesday and Thursday, however the test team was able to complete the testing of several aerodynamic components. We now have seven days of testing before sending the cars to Melbourne. Obviously there will be particular attention in the collective testing in Barcelona in the last week of February. It will be the first time in recent times that all the top teams will be together on the same track. Even if this will give us the possibility of more significant comparisons, we will still focus on our program rather than on finding times. The real litmus test of performance will be in Australia."
