WEC | Alonso enraptured by the Toyota LMP1: “It accelerates like a spaceship!”

The tests held on the Aragon circuit with the Toyota LMP1 of 2018 have completely fulfilled the expectations of Fernando Alonso. The Spanish driver thus commented on the first approach with "his" new racing car, on board which he will participate in the Super Season of WEC: “The car is fantastic, it's something really special. I believe that the four-wheel drive, together with the additional power provided by the hybrid system, pays off the acceleration of this car is similar to that of a spaceship! You come out of the corners and feel the compression in the seat, your eyes widen.".

Already last November, during the rookie tests held in Bahrain, the two-time Formula 1 world champion had tasted the TS050 Hybrid: this, however, was the first time with the 2018 prototype. “All drivers would like to experience these sensations at least once” – continued Alonso. “I can't wait for June, but I know I will have to take some tests first, because I will have to prepare for the race. I have to respect these races and I will try to do so".
