Webber: “Vettel ignored team orders”

Mark Webber said Sebastian Vettel ignored instructions from the Red Bull team to steal his victory in Malaysia.

Vettel overtook Webber for the win in a battle in which they went wheel-to-wheel several times.

In the drivers' room after the race, an angry Webber confronted Vettel with the phrase "multi 21", believed to be team code for freezing positions.

Webber confirmed in a podium interview that Red Bull had asked to hold positions, but Vettel allegedly ignored the instructions.

“After the last stop the team told me the race was over and we set the engine to go all the way,” Webber said.

“Ultimately Seb made his choices today and benefits from protection as usual, and that's the way things are.”

“I was disappointed with the result of today's race.”
