Webber: “I'm leaving because I no longer have motivation”
The Australian revealed that he had been called by Porsche already last year
Mark Webber he could have been away from the Circus already this year if only he had felt ready. He revealed it himself in an interview with Speed Week given in Abu Dhabi last weekend.
“Porsche had contacted me for the 2013 season, but I refused because I didn't feel like changing – his explanation – During this championship, however, I started to think about it. Having been at Red Bull for some time now, I understood that the time had come to do something else. Ultimately it's human nature. I can't train like before anymore, I lack motivation. When you do something you have to be convinced that it's worth it, but if you start asking questions it means you have to quit. On the other hand, however, I didn't want to abandon racing completely, so I found this sort of compromise. I know that there is still a lot of work ahead of me, but at least not in F1 anymore, considering that in 2014 there will be twenty races...".
