Webber admits he could change team at the end of the season

Mark Webber has said he is in no rush to renew his expiring contract with Red Bull. In the wake of his two victories in a row in Spain and Monaco, the Austrian team has shown that it wants to extend the agreement with the thirty-three-year-old driver until 2011. But recently there have been rumors that the Australian would be the subject of interest from Ferarri and British newspaper Daily Mail Webber said he does not yet know who his employer will be next year.

“I just won two races, from the first to the last lap, and people are asking me who I'll drive for next year,” said the world championship leader.

“I'm very close to the Red Bull guys, we've done a lot together and I have a great relationship with them. But things happen and change very quickly in this world and you never know what you'll find around the corner,” Webber added.

After the statements of sporting director Christian Horner and team advisor Helmut Marko after the Monaco Grand Prix, Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz also spoke about the new status of Sebastian Vettel's teammate.

“They have different personalities, but when they are on the battlefield they are winners,” the Austrian billionaire told Bild am Sonntag.

Mateschitz also described Webber as “the stereotype of the fair, athletic sportsman.”
