Vitaly Petrov approaches Renault
di January 18, 2010
Vitaly Petrov is the latest of the many names linked to Renault in recent months.
The Russian driver has been racing in GP2 since 2006 and last year he finished the championship in second place behind Nico Hulkenberg, hired by Williams for this season.
Petrov's name, which brings with it substantial financial backing, has previously been linked to Campos and Sauber.
The Finnish newspaper Torun Sanomat states that joining Robert Kubica at Renault will be the driver who brings "the most money in sponsorships" and in this case Petrov would be "without a shadow of a doubt the only real candidate."
