Vitaly Petrov: “My F1 career is not over”

Vitaly Petrov he denied the fact that he will leave at the end of the season formula 1.

The Russian's manager Oksana Kosachenko he had declared that he was looking for alternatives for 2013 given that the Russian's financial support was running out.

However, the driver declared that his manager's words were said to try to maintain his commitment to F1.

“We decided to talk about it now, not at the end of the season” declared the current driver Caterham as well as a former Renault driver at the German motorsport-magazin website.

Petrov also stated that his situation is different compared to other “paying drivers” from “Mexico and Spain”, as the latter are able to “choose the team” they want to drive for.

The Russian has stated that remaining at Caterham in 2013 is a possible option.

“They want me to stay here, my management and the team are still negotiating the contract for next year, so everything is still open,” said Petrov.
