Villeneuve: “Verstappen is simply ridiculous”

The accusations between Jacques Villeneuve and Max Verstappen do not seem to subside and, on the contrary, they are becoming increasingly serious. In recent days we told you about the poisonous words of the 1997 world champion about the young Dutch driver, too aggressive and too aggressive according to Villeneuve.

Verstappen's response was not long in coming: “Villeneuve should shut up, looking at himself and the things he's done throughout his career. He killed a person!” – said the Dutchman, referring to an accident involving Villeneuve in 2001, in which a course marshal, Graham Beveridge, died following a blow to the head received by a wheel that came off the Canadian's car -. The Canadian, rather annoyed by the Red Bull driver's comments, responded to the accusations as follows: “I made some logical comments about what had happened on the track in Belgium, but he went much further. It's inappropriate and shows a lack of respect for the family [of the commissioner who died at the Australian Grand Prix]. There is nothing else to say on this topic, I don't want to start a fight. It's just ridiculous".

According to Villeneuve, behind Verstappen there is another figure who is telling him how to behave: “Oobviously someone is telling him what to say and what to think.
