Heaviest cars in Formula 1 for 2010
di F1 editorial teamApril 30, 2009
The FIA has increased the minimum weight of the cars - including the driver - for the 1 Formula 2010 World Championship. This seems to be a response from the Federation to those who claim that the category is becoming a sort of "jockey competition" after the introduction of the heavy KERS.
Many of the drivers tried to lose weight over the winter in view of the extra 40kg brought by the new system, without there being an increase in the 605kg corresponding to the minimum weight of the cars.
On Thursday the FIA published the new technical regulations for 2010 and increased the minimum weight of cars from 605kg to 620kg.
