Vettel, third victory in four races

He has won three out of four races this season but Sebastian Vettel continues to remain cautious about his world championship chances. The Red Bull driver also dominated the F1 Turkish GP today ahead of his teammate and Fernando Alonso (Ferrari).

“It's positive to score a lot of points in every race” declared Vettel. “But we know how quickly the situation can change. We saw it last year with Alonso's recovery, so we really have to take it one step at a time, do every race and try to maximize the result,” Vettel added.

“It was a good start to the season, it certainly always helps, but there's a long way to go. Four races out of 19, so we have to stay focused with so many races. Overall I'm very happy” admitted Vettel.

“On Friday I had an accident and damaged the car a lot. All the mechanics, even those on Mark's car, helped fix the car. They worked extra hours, I apologize, but yesterday and today we made up for it. I'm happy with the result, a big thank you to the team."

The German, like many other drivers, stopped in the pits 4 times: “It wasn't easy from the start to understand what would happen” he added. “You have an idea of the tires and their durability, but you have to wait for the first and second stints to understand the trend. I could have stayed on the track on the hard tires but if a safety car had come in I would have had used tyres, so I did another short stint. I really had the race under control and I'm very happy with our reading of the race. I am really satisfied and we have undoubtedly taken a step forward from China. We have learned the lesson and we must make sure we continue at this level in the next race too."
