Vettel: “I'm disappointed by this mistake”

Sebastian Vettel expressed his disappointment at his "one mistake" during the Canadian Grand Prix, which caused him to lose first place in the race. The final laps of the Canadian Grand Prix saw the sensational comeback of Jenson Button to the detriment of the German Red Bull driver, who made a mistake that ruined his error-free performance.

“Of course, I'm disappointed,” Vettel said in the post-race conference. “It was a very difficult race from start to finish and I was in the lead from the start until the penultimate lap. I was too cautious, perhaps, after the last safety car. Leading a race and then losing it is not the sweetest of sensations."

“We did our best, it was very important to finish and cross the finish line, especially in a race like this, but making a mistake like that on the last lap isn't nice.”

“I was a little late with the braking, it was a difficult finish and I could see that Jenson was getting very close and was catching up.” However, Vettel managed to maintain second position, ahead of his teammate Mark Webber and to the Mercedes of Michael Schumacher.

“It was a long race with a long interruption” concluded Vettel “It was tough and one of the most challenging races of the year”.
