Vettel: “I can give up everything, but not the trophies”

Sebastian Vettel he revealed that one of the greatest joys for him is receiving a trophy on the podium of a race. The German said that receiving a new trophy at the end of a race is much better than receiving money.

“I can give up everything, but not trophies,” said the 24-year-old, who has won 21 Grands Prix and stood on the podium a total of 35 times.

“When you give everything for two hours, it doesn't matter whether you are rewarded with a small or a large check, but a nice cup makes the difference,” he told the SID agency.

“When I'm on the podium I know that life couldn't give me better.”

In order to keep his name on the most important trophy of all – the drivers' championship trophy – Vettel must continue to win world championships.

“I will have to give it back sooner or later” he said “So I would like to keep it for as long as possible, for a few years. Michael (Schumacher) held it for five in a row.”

“My goal has always been to be a world champion in F1, and now, whatever happens, no one can take this title away from me.”
