Vettel: “I'm not satisfied with my lap”

Fourth time for Sebastian Vettel in qualifying for the Austrian F1 GP but the Ferrari German will start ninth due to the five-place grid penalty for replacing the gearbox.

“We did the right thing by fitting the ultrasoft tires at the end in the wet but the right timing was missing, obviously those who went out later benefited from a track in better conditions. It's difficult to say how much risk was right, evidently I didn't risk enough compared to the others and for this reason I'm not fully satisfied with my lap. Tomorrow we will start with a 5 position penalty on the grid, we will see what we can do starting from there."

Ferrari had the intuition to set the time in Q2 with the supersofts and will therefore start with a longer lasting tire for the first stint against the ultrasofts of the Mercedes which in theory should only last a few laps: "We'll see tomorrow if it will be an advantage ” commented Vettel, “at that moment it seemed like the right choice to make”.
