Vettel: “I don't think KERS works here in Valencia”

Sebastian Vettel urged Red Bull to resolve the issues with KERS in Valencia once and for all. The RB7 had more than one problem with this system over the course of the season, designed to be smaller and less powerful than the others, in order to maximize the aerodynamic package of the car.

And with the ban on blown exhausts and with McLaren having stolen Vettel's victory in Canada on the last lap, the world championship leader asked the team to definitively resolve the issues regarding KERS.

“In the last few races everyone has been close. Now I need extra power,” Vettel told Bild-Zeitung.

Not only that, an Austrian website reports the words of the German pilot: "I don't guarantee that the KERS will work here in Valencia".

Jenson Button, winner in Canada two weeks, due to a mistake by Vettel on the final lap, thinks the 23-year-old is showing signs of cracking when under pressure.

“The last race should have made him give up mentally. Let's hope he continues to be like this and that he gives us a chance in this race too. It makes me smile, because it shows what can happen if we put them under pressure."
