Vettel: The Pirellis are better than expected
Satisfaction at Red Bull with the behavior of the Pirelli tires after the first official test. Sebastian Vettel drove on both days and tested all four specifications brought by the Italian company to Abu Dhabi.
The new world champion is happy with the tyres: “We had two days of intense testing and we had the opportunity to form our first impressions of these tyres. We have analyzed their behavior and are satisfied. There are certainly things that Pirelli will review in view of 2011 but I think the tires are good, better than expected. For us it was also an opportunity to test some details on the car since this is the only test foreseen by the FIA."
From the team, race engineer Ian Morgan comments: “It was interesting for us to test the tires with a car, the RB6, that we know well. We have gained important information that we will use on next season's car. We look forward to working with Pirelli in the future even if this is a slightly sad day for us because it is the last day of activity of a single-seater that has achieved great success. We'll see each other again in 2011."
