Vettel frustrated with brake problems
Sebastian Vettel said he was frustrated by the brake problems he suffered in qualifying for the Turkish Grand Prix. The German was unable to match the times of his Red Bull teammate, Mark Webber, who will start from pole position tomorrow. Vettel finished his qualifying in third position.
“The first lap was fantastic until turn 12 and under braking I locked the inside wheel slightly, the car didn't slow down, I went straight and lost some time. Otherwise I would have easily been faster. Obviously it's very strange,” said Vettel, reiterating that he was still happy to start from the clean side of the track.
“I'm happy to be third and fortunately I'm not fourth, it will be a long race tomorrow but this year with these rules and without supplies it's more difficult to gain positions. If we look at the races, I think I always qualified in the top three, which is not bad. In the last two races in particular, Barcelona and Monaco, I think it is difficult to quantify how much we have lost due to the chassis or other things. I'm not the type to say the car is broken and that's it. I always try to do better. If we look at today, in Q1 and Q2 I was fast enough and in Q3 I wasn't."
