Vettel happy with pole in Abu Dhabi

Sebastian Vettel will start ahead of everyone tomorrow in the Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix, which will decide the drivers' title. The German precedes Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso while Mark Webber will start fifth behind Button.

“We start from pole and this is undoubtedly the best position. Qualifying was difficult, we knew that the conditions would be difficult because in the evening the temperatures drop a lot. Last night we weren't in such a good place, we weren't 100% happy but we made a good step forward which allowed us to fight for pole with Lewis" declared Vettel.

“In the end if I had done two laps it would have perhaps been better, in the end it was hard for me. I went in after the others and made it. Excellent work by the whole team, it was a difficult session and at this point we'll wait for tomorrow to see what happens" added the Red Bull driver.

Vettel took his tenth pole of the season today: “It's certainly been an incredible year. The other day I was looking at the statistics, the number of poles in a year that people like Senna, Prost, Michael have achieved... we're all there with 10 poles so I'm not in first place, maybe I can improve next year. However, certainly phenomenal qualifying during the year, the car has always been competitive and therefore it was truly a pleasure, an excellent result which highlights the goodness of the car” concluded Vettel.
