Vettel: “It was a fun race and I made a good comeback”

The German Ferrari driver, Sebastian Vettel, was the author of a good comeback in the Canadian Grand Prix and crossed the finish line in fifth place behind teammate Kimi Raikkonen.

Sebastian Vettel: “It was a fun race and I made a good comeback, we couldn't have done much more. In the first laps I wasn't satisfied with myself, I was very aggressive but I couldn't find the space to attack the other cars: I wanted to give everything but we couldn't pass, so I had to be patient. It's a shame because these are the moments where if you're lucky you can easily gain five, six, seven or eight seconds in the total race time. That didn't happen and so we had to fight, but the pace was good and the car was good especially towards the end. At the first pit stop I lost a bit of time and I'm not sure if it was entirely down to me, something went wrong with the rear end, but the guys have always worked amazingly so far and you can't blame anyone if one time it takes a while 'more time. As for overtaking Hulkenberg, I was on the outside and already in front of him, I think he braked too late without managing to close the corner. We did our best even though it would have been nice to get a podium here, I think that without the penalty we would have had the chance."
