Vettel: “Two very useful days at Mugello”

Red Bull is satisfied with its pace on the Tuscan track

The world champion appreciated the three days of testing and demonstrated the excellent moment of the Austrian team

Red Bull leaves Mugello very satisfied: with Sebastian Vettel's second time on Day-3 of the F1 tests, a short distance from the day's leader Romain Grosjean, the world champion team confirmed its progress after a slow start difficult season.

Chris Horner, team manager of the Austrian team, thinks that the battle for the lead is still very competitive, but he is confident that Red Bull has made a step forward. “I think we are all tremendously close”, said the head of the “cans”. “The first four races had four different winners from four different teams and it showed how competitive Formula One is this season. Bahrain was obviously a good race for us and here at Mugello too we are sure that we have made some progress with the car: we hope to be able to learn more from this test and to be able to use what we learned in Barcelona in a couple of weeks.".

After completing 106 laps and finishing at a time substantially close to that of leader Grosjean, Sebastian Vettel is also optimistic. “It was a very useful couple of days and I had a lot of fun on the track,” said the German. “As usual we now have a lot of data to analyze and that will take some time to do. We tried a couple of things and the results look encouraging, but it's always difficult to say if we improved and by how much, but we got some good laps and some good information.", concluded the world champion.
