Vettel: “With the full wets we can't find the right feeling”
The German points the finger at the wet tires of the Milanese manufacturer
Many yesterday criticized the race direction's decision to start the British Grand Prix behind the Safety Car, but for Sebastian Vettel this solution did not constitute any problem. The German from Ferrari instead pointed the finger at Pirelli's extreme wet tyres, stating that no driver can find the right feeling with this type of compound.
“Each of us may have a different opinion on starting a GP behind the Safety Car – Vettel's opinion – I think it was the best decision, because the first part of the track was full of water unlike the second. I think there is no need to criticize this decision. The real problem is the wet tyres."
"We prefer - continues the Ferrari driver – taking big risks with the intermediates, even though there is water on the track, simply because they are faster. We have expressed our thoughts several times: wet tires are fine in case of starting behind the Safety Car. Unfortunately no one listened to our advice."
