Vettel against KERS and four-cylinder engines

Sebastian Vettel has revealed he is not a supporter of KERS or the planned switch to four-cylinder engines in 2013.

Interviewed by the official F1 website on which of the current regulations he would like to change, the reigning world champion replied: “I would put a V12 engine in the cars. I am against all proposals to move to four cylinders.”

The German continued: “I would remove the KERS and put a V12. It would be 'greener' than what we have now!”

Ecclestone has said he is concerned about small engine noise in 2013, but other observers say his position is the opening salvo in a power struggle with Todt and the FIA.

Vettel said: “I'm definitely in favor of having lots of power, a nice sound – a brutal car so you have to outdo yourself every time you get back in the car.”
