Vettel: “Take every opportunity”

Sebastian Vettel is realistic about his chances for Spa, but ready to fight. “It's difficult to say what our chances are compared to those of our competitors here in Belgium, but obviously you can't refer to the result of the last race. We have to approach every Grand Prix weekend with a different approach. Having said that, we will give our best" commented Vettel.

“I think Kimi is a very good driver, I have a good relationship with him and I think he is good for the team, because he offers stability. So we can continue to work together for Ferrari, trying to do our best. Of course everyone wants to race for themselves, but I don't think either he or I have an ego that would hinder the team. I wasn't directly involved in decisions regarding his contract, but it's no secret that we get along very well. We both tend not to waste energy on trivial things, and to focus on what it takes to get back to the top. As for the championship, for me it is still mathematically possible to win, but let's be realistic and know that it is a very difficult thing, given the gap that still separates us from our competitors. Certainly, if like in Hungary we have the opportunity to change things, we will have to do our best. We have taken the opportunity twice so far and it has gone very well. When that wasn't the case we did our best to stay right behind him, but for sure the advantage with Mercedes is still there and won't disappear. New rules on departure procedures will come into force here, but I don't think this will change things much. There will be less radio assistance from the pits, fewer possibilities to adjust the clutch at the start, but I think that in two or three races we will understand how to do it."
