Verstappen: “The new Toro Rosso faster than a second”
The Faenza team hopes for the Ferrari engine
di Staff2 February 2016
The new Toro Rosso car is one second per lap faster than the 2015 single-seater. This was revealed by Max Verstappen, who is aiming for an excellent 2016 season with the Ferrari-powered Red Bull junior team.
Despite the excellent chassis, last year the Faenza team suffered from problems with the Renault power unit and now hopes to improve with the 2015 specification of the Maranello engines.
“It looks very promising. We probably gained eight tenths or a second per lap compared to last year,” Verstappen told Ziggo Sport.
"It's a lot. We will probably take a bigger step forward than the teams that will have a simple upgrade of their engine for 2016. For us, the engine is a big change."
