An intense day at Silverstone for the Ferrari team

It was an intense day for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, with its two drivers covering a total of almost 650 kilometres. Felipe Massa completed the distance of Sunday's race while his teammate, Kimi Raikkonen, covered five laps more. “It is always difficult to interpret the results of Friday's free practice because the work programs of the other teams are not known” – declared Stefano Domenicali – “We knew that the characteristics of this circuit would not be ideal for our car and now we will have to try to analyze the data collected in these three hours to see how to improve its performance. We have a difficult weekend ahead of us but we will do our best, as always, to bring home a good result
result."

Felipe Massa: “I'm not very satisfied with the progress of these two free practice sessions. The track was quite dirty and the wind made itself felt. We couldn't find the right direction to improve the balance of the car. There will certainly be a lot of work to do for us in view of qualifying, where the most realistic objective at the moment is a top ten finish.”

Kimi Raikkonen: “It's difficult to say where we are compared to the others: we'll have to wait for tomorrow's qualifying to find out. It's clear that, looking at today's results, we certainly don't have an easy weekend ahead of us. The car isn't bad in terms of balance but we don't seem to be fast enough. The tires are the same as Turkey but, obviously, the temperatures are much lower: on the first lap the performance between the two types is quite different but then, over the distance, they tend to be similar. As expected, there was wind on the track but it didn't damage me as I had imagined.”

Chris Dyer: “We had some small problems with both cars: nothing particularly serious but enough to slow down the completion of the program we had planned for the two drivers. We had several new features on the F60 and now we will have to analyze the behavior of the car to try to face in the best way a weekend that certainly promises to be not easy.”
