Debris was the cause of Vettel's tire blowout in Austria
Pirelli's analysis closed
di Chiara Rainis6 July 2016
Pirelli has concluded its analysis of the right rear tire that blew on Sebastian Vettel's SF16-H on lap 27 of last weekend's Austrian GP.
The few remaining parts of the tire and an in-depth comparison with other tires used in the race did not reveal any signs of fatigue or failure of any kind.
The hypothesis is therefore that of a piece of debris that could have triggered the rupture.
