Further improvements for Kubica: new intervention on Friday

Robert Kubica is improving day by day.

Fear increasingly gives way to optimism and the doctors of the Santa Corona hospital in Pietra Ligure are the first to explain that the pilot's conditions are clearly improving.

Today's bulletin, released by the head doctor Dr. Barabino, specifies that “The general picture is good, the patient's condition has further improved and can be considered stable. The pilot is alert, breathing and feeding independently, he has received visits from members of his team with whom he spoke for longer than the visits he received yesterday".

Tomorrow morning Robert will leave the intensive care unit to move to the orthopedics department. On Friday, barring second thoughts, he will undergo surgery on his humerus and foot for the first of two operations still planned and left 'pending'. The pilot, however, will not leave the facility before two/three weeks of convalescence.

The best news of the day, however, is that relating to the right hand. Robert can move all five fingers and the vascularization is good. In this regard, Prof. Rossello (the surgeon who operated on Robert's hand) declared that “The operation was a perfect success. It's a great result because the operation was long and very complex"

In the evening Robert received a visit from Jean Alesì: “How did I find him? For what he had, I would say it was good” declared the Frenchman upon leaving the Santa Corona hospital.

As we see, therefore, every day a piece is added to the mosaic of what could take the form of a record and, on Sunday alone, unimaginable recovery. In certain situations it is better to stay 'buttoned up', of course. On the other hand, the injuries caused by the accident are numerous and, remember, it will take many months for Robert to get back into shape. But we like to be optimistic, and if the right hand (probably the most damaged) brings positive signs, perhaps we can hope for the times to come.

Success for our initiative.
As you can see from all the F1grandprix pages, we wanted to highlight our initiative with a small banner and, given Robert's improving conditions, We invite you again to send him a message of encouragement for his rehabilitation.

We have received more than 450 emails since opening the email inbox, and the messages are already being printed. The F1grandprix editorial team thanks in advance all the users who have positively welcomed this small gesture and are participating in the initiative with sincere and 'true' messages, as are, after all, Formula 1 fans. Robert will certainly be pleased to receive a moral 'incentive' to get back into shape as soon as possible!
