Trulli proud of his F1 career "without help"

The Italian surprised by the offers already received in the last few days

Trulli proud of his F1 career "without help"

The Italian press went wild against it Vitaly Petrov, after the latter caused Jarno Trulli's exit from F1.

With Vitantonio Liuzzi replaced at HRT by Narain karthikeyan, the history of F1 enters a new phase without any Italian driver on the starting grid.

“If you look carefully, the drivers now come from Central America and the East,” the former F1 driver told the press, Riccardo Patrese.

Trulli he said he still wants to continue competing but also reiterated that his wine and hotel businesses will keep him busy.

“More than anything else, despite some unsatisfactory results, I am proud of having been able to realize my dream of racing in F1 without anyone's help but only with my own strength” said the driver from Abruzzo.

“I was surprised by the amount of offers I received in the last two days, but I don't want to make a decision now. I want to analyze all the offers and understand which one is best for me. NASCAR and IndyCar could be a possibility, but obviously I have no sponsors,” the Italian confided to Autosport. “I've never had any in my career and therefore I have to rely only on my talent and nothing else.”

The Swiss newspaper Blick has conducted research which shows that in the history of modern F1 81 drivers have been Italian, furthermore Livio Oricchio recalls how in 1989 there were 16 Italian drivers on the starting grid.

Many Italian fans are pointing the finger at Ferrari, accusing it of not having employed full-time Italian drivers for many years.

We wish Jarno Trulli to remain active, certainly the disappointment remains and it will not be easy to watch a starting grid without any Italian in Melbourne.

The hope is that our younger compatriot riders will bring the Italian flag back to the premier category.
