Toto Wolff: “Firing Senna is not commercial suicide for the team”

La Williams she refused to define the passing of Bruno senna as a loss that will weigh on the team's budget in 2013.

The Grove team announced a few days ago the replacement of the well-sponsored Senna with the Finnish rookie Valtteri Bottas.

Bottas has the shareholder as manager as well as an important figure in the team, Toto wolff.

Asked whether Senna's departure will affect Williams' financial situation, Wolff replied: "Finance plays an important role for us, but for us it is also important to have the best possible package, and we are also happy that Valtteri has some partners who will also follow him in F1."

“I'm happy to say that he is not only doing a good job on the track but also off the track, in fact we have been to Finland and we are well supported financially. It's not something to be overlooked,” Wolff said.

“So taking Valtteri is not a harakiri move from a commercial point of view.”

The 23-year-old Bottas confirmed that he is backed by "some big Finnish companies".

Williams' decision left Senna in the position of "selling" his talent to Force India, also it is rumored that his sponsors are not interested in small teams like Marussia or Caterham.

“Bruno is a good guy,” said the former F1 driver Jacques laffite at Totalrace, "but F1 is very difficult and he hasn't done much compared to his team mate Maldonado".

“I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think he will continue in F1.”
