Tost: “Verstappen immediately in the top ten”
According to the Toro Rosso team principal, the Dutchman will have no problem getting used to F1
Max Verstappen he has all it takes to reach the top ten from the first race in Melborune despite his limited formula experience.
The boss is convinced of this Toro Rosso Franz Tost who, speaking to Autosport, did not hide a certain confidence in the Dutchman who, remember, at the start in Australia will still be 17 years old.
“I was able to observe his behavior two years ago in karting and I was impressed by his speed and control of the vehicle – he said – I am therefore sure that if he has a good car he will immediately be able to get into the points as happened in 2014 in Kvyat. So I don't think he will have any problems also because he is well prepared. Today this sport is completely different from the past. Age doesn't matter, it's performance that counts. In fact, there are a lot of people around in their twenties who are too slow for F1 and kids who are quite smart and talented and who deserve it."
