Tost: “Vergne deserves F1”
The Toro Rosso boss defends the Frenchman on foot at the end of the season
The dismissal of Jean-Eric Vergne laid down by the Toro Rosso at the end of 2014 it would not have been born from a discontent of the Faenza team but from the older sister Red Bull and from the man who has the final say on everything Helmut Marko.
The team principal made this clear in an interview with F1i.com Franz tost specifying that "the team's objective is to train young drivers up to the third year" and revealing a certain disappointment at the decision. “Of the guys who left us, JEV is certainly the best and I hope he can find a place elsewhere – he said – Unfortunately he wasn't able to show his full potential due to a car that was too often unreliable, so I hope he can shine in this last part of the season because he absolutely deserves to stay in F1."
