Toro Rosso: Vergne, “We are aiming for the points zone with both cars”

Satisfaction among the Toro Rosso Team today in qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix. Both drivers placed their cars in the top ten. Vergne will start from seventh place while his teammate Kvyat from ninth place.

“I'm very happy with today's qualifying, certainly for me, but also for the boys, who deserved a good result for all their hard work. Having both cars in the top ten is a great achievement for everyone. My last lap on the Super Softs was slowed down by the yellow flags, but the first was enough to secure me P7, a good position to start the race tomorrow. I am confident that we can finish in the points with both cars. I will definitely push to maintain at least my seventh position until the checkered flag.”
 
Daniil Kvyat, Pos 9
“This is definitely the messiest qualifying of my career. In Q1 I lost the rear all of a sudden and hit the wall, so I had to go back to the pits to change the nose. I regained my confidence immediately and managed to do two good laps in Q2. Unfortunately in Q3 I was a bit unlucky, because I wasn't able to do a correct lap. When I went out for the final run with new options, I had to backtrack due to the yellow flag. Obviously this is frustrating because it's a track where you can't overtake easily. Now we will focus on preparing for tomorrow's race, where we aim to finish in the points.”
