Toro Rosso, James Key: “Our goal this year is sixth place in the constructors' standings”

Toro Rosso technical director James Key is confident the team can challenge for sixth place in this year's Formula 1 standings, although he admits it is an ambitious target.

“What I saw in the team is that there are two aspects,” said Key, who joined Toro Rosso last year.

“The first is the ambition to do much better than ninth position in the constructors' standings last year.”

“The second, I think for the size of the team and the resources we have, sixth place is a big step.”

“It would be a fantastic goal and the team is motivated to achieve it.”

Key also admitted that the rule changes that will come into play next year are a big challenge for teams like Toro Rosso.

“We have a long season, and, at the end of the year, with all the trips overseas, it will be difficult to update the car, so there are a whole series of considerations to make.”

“It will be important to work immediately on the 2014 car”.
