Toro Rosso: Both cars in the points in Canada

After a race full of episodes, accidents, pit stops and safety cars, the two Toro Rosso drivers, Jaime Alguersuari, who started last from the pitlane, and Sebastien Buemi both reached the points zone.

“I'm very happy because in the end I'm eighth after starting last from the pit lane. It's a really good result for us. I'm also very happy because I scored my first points of the season, although I know there is still room for improvement on my side and in terms of the car's setup, especially in qualifying. Today, the team did a good job and we also did our best at every opportunity that came our way. We executed a perfect strategy, especially when we decided to stop to change tyres. This result will give everyone a lot of motivation to continue working hard. It gives us wings as we head to my second home race in Valencia! And the spectators deserve a mention for being in the cold and wet for so long, but I think they saw a good race.”

“Of course, I'm happy to have scored a point which is always important. However, I'm a bit disappointed because I think I could have done better and I'm not sure if changing slicks so early worked for me. But, looking at the overall result, including Jaime's eighth place, I am very happy for the team, who did a good job. Something unusual always happens in this race and today it turned out to be a little longer than expected, but stopping the race was the only correct decision because there was a danger of aquaplaning and visibility was very bad. I'm sure the whole afternoon was very spectacular for the spectators! Now we have to continue working hard to be in good shape for Valencia.”
