Toro Rosso, Carlos Sainz is ready for the Melbourne challenge

A debut to remember, with top youn achieved in qualifying and in the race, and the hope of repeating it in the 2016 edition. Carlos Sainz can't wait to throw himself headlong into the Australian weekend, the first of the season, and is ready to face the GP with relative optimism . The Spanish driver made some interesting statements on the Toro Rosso website, where he analyzed the Melbourne circuit, among other things.

“I have excellent memories of Australia, probably among the best of 2015: there I achieved an eighth place in my first qualifying session in F1 and I also scored points in my debut race. Preparing for this race again can only make me happy - Sainz commented – I discovered this track for the first time last year and I can say that I really liked it. I remember that at the first bend there is rather irregular asphalt and it is easy to lock the front wheels. The second DRS zone is challenging, because you open the wing right at the exit of the second corner. But the point where you have to be very careful is the entrance to turn 6, where it is quite easy to put a wheel on the grass! To make time, you have to pass very close to the wall in turns 9 and 10 and in some ways it reminds me a bit of Monaco. My favorite part of the track is the fastest one, in the stretch of turns 11 and 12 which are tackled in sixth gear. The last sector has a nice mix of corners which I really like, although the last two are the most difficult – especially 16 – where you really have to fight with the steering to get out well. I certainly had a lot of fun last year and I hope I can say the same thing this time too!".
