Toro Rosso: Buemi and Alguersuari remain positive for the Silverstone race

Toro Rosso drivers disappointed with the result of qualifying at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix. The rain that arrived a few minutes before the end of Q1 relegated Buemi and Alguersuari to 18th and 19th position on the grid respectively.

Jaime Alguersuari – Pos 18:
“We were a bit unlucky because we had to change the soft tires early, and therefore we never used our full potential. But it's not all bad, because we have good data in case it will be wet again tomorrow and also regarding the Prime tire on a long run, so we can be in good shape for the race. If we can exploit all the opportunities, then it won't be impossible for us to finish in the points again. At least I have plenty of new tires ready to use and with only limited use of DRS allowed in the race, we could be competitive not only in the wet, as was the case on Friday, but also in the dry. ”

Sebastien Buemi – Pos 19:
“I'm a bit disappointed, as we didn't expect the rain to come so soon, which means we didn't use the option tire as early as we could have done. But the rain came down a lot on my launch lap, so I never had a chance to set a good time on the soft tires, which is normally up to two seconds a lap faster than the hard. On the positive side, we have a lot of new tires for tomorrow, so hopefully it will be dry. From this starting position, getting a good start will be crucial because, even with DRS, I think overtaking on this circuit will be difficult. This season we started from behind on the grid, but then we had some good races and I hope that will be the case tomorrow too. “
