Todt is not worried about the level of safety at the Interlagos circuit
Jean Todt insists he is happy with the safety of the Interlagos circuit.
The accidents that occurred at the Sao Paulo circuit in the fast Cafe corner prompted the organizers to make significant changes to the safety of the circuit, including the demolition of a grandstand.
However, work will begin after the F1 season finale in November, and it has emerged that a temporary chicane has been made for the stock car series, but will not be used by Formula One.
The president of the FIA, Jean Todt, did not say he was at all worried.
“We are aware of the incidents that occurred at Interlagos in another category. We looked into the accidents, examining the cars, not the track. Rest assured that we will take every measure to prevent such incidents from happening again."
The Frenchman insisted that the level of safety in F1 is excellent.
“For 17 years there have been no deaths in Formula One. We know it is a dangerous sport, but the FIA constantly works to avoid accidents and reduce the risks."
